Again a lovely winter break in the Vendée at L’Ecurie. Great lunches, wine and shopping!
Fabulous hosts - always so helpful and hospitable. Great to reminisce about Jersey in the past and of course Mike likes to talk “Computers” with Jason.

Lovely welcoming hosts, very knowledgeable about area, offered great advice about days out, excellent gite - like being home-from-home.
Visited La Rochelle, Luçon, nice beach at La Tranche sur Mer.
Unfortunately didn’t have the best weather - games room great for wet days!!

La vue de L’Ecurie et de la piscine sur le marais est magnifique, on ne l’en laisserait pas. Le gîte est propre et très fonctionnel et nous avons bien profité de la diversité des activités à disposition sur le site: piscine (exceptionnel fin avril!), boulodrome, salle de jeux. Même pas eu le temps de tester la salle de sport.
De coup, il nous faudra revenir….avec grand plaisir!

Très bonne location, la maison est spacieuse, propre, avec des salles de bain toutes neuves, une cuisine bien équipée. Equipements assez incroyables avec une piscine chauffée, une salle de jeu très fournie, jeux de plage, console, télé et lecteur dvd, collection impressionnante de dvd, de livres... et sans oublier la salle de sport en libre accès avec tapis de course, vélos en tout genre.... joli jardin avec une belle vue, on nous a même proposé de cueillir des poireaux du potager pour le dîner ! Nous avons été très chaleureusement accueillis par Annette et Jason très souriants et toujours prêts à répondre à nos questions, et des délicieuses spécialités nous attendaient dans la cuisine. Bref nous sommes vraiment ravis de notre séjour. (Revue sur AirBnB).

Et sur AirBnB: Cette location est très agréable avec une grande piscine, un grand jardin et des propriétaire très accueillant. De plus, la cuisine est grande et bien équipée. Les salles de sport et de jeux sont très bien fournies aussi (table de ping-pong, billard, console, jeu de société...). Cette maison est située à 20 min de la tranche-sur-mer se qui reste agréable, et il y a tous les équipements (parasols, bouées, jeux de plage...) possible à disposition pour passer de bon moment entre amis ou en famille sur la plage. Je recommande cette location pour les vacances.

Thank you very much for a geat welcome andwonderful stay in Lairoux. We have enjoyed delicious food eating at the Phare Ouest in Ste Gemme and the Ardoise Gourmand in Luçon. Fantastic day at Puy du Fou as always - each time getting bigger and better. Body boarding at our favourite beach - Les Conches. We have been trying to think of something Annette & Jason have missed to make our stay more comfortable, but we have failed!!! Thank you once again. Hope to be back again!!
We had another brilliant holiday here at Maison Lairoux. We went to Les Conches beach where we enjoyed bodyboarding.
We also went to the Puy du Fou where we had an amazing time seeing lots of shows. I recommend to plan your day before you get there. It is very helpful.
And lastly we went to the Indian Forest Adventure Park. We did the water activities. It was lots of fun.
And finally, Annette & Jason don’t treat you like customers, they treat you like friends.

Week of very hot weather, but windy with it! Great view from the terrace, but not enough shade from the hot sun all day. Lovely welcome from Jason and Annette on the Saturday and a great ‘Soirée’ on the Tuesday evening to get to know the other gite guests.
Alternated days out with rest days. Aiguillon-sur-Mer to see the sea birds Les Sables d’Olonne (Jet set!). Vouvant and Mervent forest (Recommend the Chill Out Restaurant). The gardens at St Cyr en Talmondais worth a visit, lotus flowers just coming out.
Nice pool, but a bit of a wind chill factor on getting out! Flies spoilt the week somewhat – otherwise an enjoyable stay. Jason - Thanks for the bike rides with Steve.
(Due to heatwave with temperatures over 30 degrees – extra umbrella supplied for shade)

Another amazing holiday. Nothing is too much trouble for Annette & Jason, making sure that we have a brilliant holiday. Very hot, but better than cold & wet. The gite is so comfortable and the doggies enjoyed the balls in the doggie toy box. We love coming here to Lairoux and enjoy chilling on the patio area. Brian enjoyed his daily dip in the pool. The gite is the best we have been to in France - everything you need in the kitchen, BBQing is good too. Thank you Annette & Jason - we have had a lovely time and look forward to our next stay in 2020!

We loved Maison Lairoux - a beautiful house, great pool and the kids couldn’t believe the fabulous games room!
We spent most days at the beach - especially loved La Terrière for the great waves for body boarding and the nice café.
We really enjoyed the Château des Aventuriers - thanks for the recommendation Jason. And for something different, we enjoyed Mervent where we hired a boat and then went on to Chassonon (Lac) where there is a lake beach with a water slide and bouncy castle. 😊

Fabulous holiday - our 2 weeks have flown by! Maison Lairoux is a complete home from home: thank you to Annette & Jason for making our stay so great, nothing was too much trouble.
We’ve enjoyed the pool and gardens, visited local beaches (Les Conches was amazing for body boarding), went to the Puy du Fou, O’Gliss Water Park, the list goes on. Absolutely brilliant wake boarding at Atlantic Wake Park.
We’ve had such a chilled out holiday and are really sad to leave. We will definitely be back as there is still so much we want to do in this beautiful area.

We have not ventured too far as usual but enjoyed the pool and the beautiful gardens. We have had great days out at the O’Gliss Water Park, Vouvant and La Rochelle/Ile de Ré – all recommended. Beware the vertical drop slide at the water park!

For dog owners – there is a long pathway walk behind the Church and for river walks/swims – the Vallée de Yon, and pathway walks at L’Aubraie, and the beaches!

Another great Autumnal break staying at L'Ecurie. Weather was amazing for the time of year 24/25 degrees!
It was lovely to sit outside the terrace for drinks with Annette & Jason until 10.00pm - a first for mid-October.
Had a great Sunday lunch at Au Fils de Saison in Luçon (hadn't been for a year or two). They did a special 'Vendéen Menu' paired with 2 glasses of wine for 33 euros - superb!
We also tried a new restaurant - Pousse Pied at La Tranche - Menu du Marché at lunchtime - 19 euros - great value - highly recommend.
Look forward to Feb 2019.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. Le gîte était au-delà de nos espérances. Confortable et proche de la nature qui allie calme et volupté. Je remercie les propriétaires pour leur discrétion et serviabilité. D’ailleurs nous réservons à nouveau pour une semaine au mois de Mai et septembre 2019.
