Another great winter break at L’Ecurie with a lovely log fire for the cold evenings.
Enjoyed lovely lunches at ‘’Au Fils des Saisons’’ and ‘’Ardoise Gourmande’’ in Luçon. Lovely lunch also at ‘’La Pousse-Pied’’ in La Tranche sur Mer – this is a Michelin Star Restaurant, but they do a lunch ‘Menu du Marché’ at 19 Euros that changes daily.
Weather sunny so managed walks at La Belle Henriette and the Lac du Finfarine.

Thank you Annette and Jason for a wonderful stay! Your generous hospitality has been so much appreciated – both by us and the dogs! The Gîte has been an excellent ‘home from home’ – well-equipped, warm and comfortable.
We have enjoyed fabulous walks on the beach at La Faute; a day out in historic La Rochelle; a beautiful sunny day on the ile de Ré – where we highly recommend St. Martin. Rollo swam like a beaver when we walked around the Lac du Finfarine and hot chocolate was a welcome ‘warm up’ at Port Bourgenay. We highly recommend the Equinoxe restaurant in La Tranche.
Firstly, thank you for arranging such fantastic sunny weather for our visit. Felt like we had stepped into Spring, but it’s February! But most of all, thank you for your wonderful hospitality and insider knowledge on the region. Thanks to you we found some beautiful beaches and walks.
The cottage is perfect for families, and very well equipped. The games room was a big hit with my boys. See you again soon!

Thanks to Jason and Annette. We had the opportunity to spend a wonderful week here in the Vendée. You do not need really to leave the domain to have a fun day. The garden and the view itself are already beautiful and relaxing.
Another nice thing you really have to try is – when it’s dark and all the streetlights are off, you’ll see a lot of stars – it’s really impressive!!
Also, the park ‘Le Puy du Fou’ is something you have to see when you’re here.

Encore un séjour réussi grâce à votre gentillesse et votre générosité! Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à l'Ecurie, on s'y sent comme à la maison! Jake et Heywa ont eté très gâtés et ont encore une fois, bien profité du jardin. Nous vous remercions pour l'apéro partagé le jeudi soir et pour le super gâteau aux noix fait par Annette!!! Encore une semaine qui a passé bien trop vite… Nous avons hâte de revenir en juillet!

We have had a lovely week here in Lairoux. The gîte is lovely and spacious and a home from home with everything you could possibly need. The pool and games room have been the highlights for Millie & Daniel (not forgetting the cats). Our highlights have been our visit to Puy du Fou, (comfy shoes essential for the walking involved), the relaxing atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings, views and even the church bells! Best of all - thank you Jason & Annette - nothing was too much trouble, you have been wonderful hosts and we hope to meet again on our next visit.

C’est notre deuxième séjour ici. Notre fils Jamie et notre petit chien, Cid, ont déjà leurs habitudes. Un grand merci pour votre accueil et gentillesse. Prochain séjour en Octobre chez vous. A tout bientôt.

We had yet again another amazing holiday here at Maison Lairoux for our third holiday here. There is lots to do here at Maison Lairoux with the games room which has lots of things to do including table tennis and an Xbox. Then there is the pool with lots of inflatables (like the Duck!), and the swing in the bottom garden.
We went to Puy du Fou and saw many great shows. The Indian Forest Adventure Park was also a great trip. We did the water jump and lots more.
Had a great time and hope to come again.

Annette and Jason – your place is just lovely. We found it to be ideal for our family.
Grandparents, Raewyn & George from New Zealand and our son Karl, daughter-in-law, Julia and grandsons Oliver and William from London. There is plenty to see around the area which we enjoyed – but mostly we stayed around the villa where the adults could relax around the pool and garden, and the children enjoying the pool, garden and the superb playroom full of treasures – absolutely no need to bring any toys! The gym was also used by some of us.
The Bagette Machine was a huge hit with the children – a short walk down the road. We really enjoyed our Thursday night meal and drinks with you both and the couple from the other house – great night! See you in NZ!

Our third visit to L’Ecurie, although it’s been 6 years since we were last here. Annette & Jason’s friendliness and hospitality are just as amazing as we remembered. You two really do think of absolutely everything anyone might need in a holiday home. We loved seeing the avocets and black-winged stilts (inc. chicks) at the Pointe d’Arcay and so many storks, more black-winged stilts, black kites etc.. etc.. at the local bird hide.
Les Conches for surfing – perfect! Favourite nature spot – La Pointe du l’Aiguillon where we saw turtle doves, linnets, skylarks, a hoopoe and bluethroats ! Thanks for a superb week!

This was our first visit to l’Ecurie and what a great pair of hosts Jason and Annette were. From the initial greeting to our final day, they were attentive and great hosts. The property was excellent and far exceeded our expectations.
The pool was definitely a welcoming feature especially as we experienced the hottest recorded temperatures during our holiday.
As we brought our family dog – Merlin – Jason and Annette were able to offer some fantastic walks and the Vallée de Yon was particularly stunning. We especially liked the local walks as well as the garden when the weather got too warm.
From the beaches to the countryside, this region has so much to offer and we hope to return soon.

Plenty to see & do – we had a good time in La Rochelle, Ile de Ré and some fine beaches. The guys enjoyed their cycles with Jason. We were pleased to join you for drinks & nibbles, while listening to the night time wildlife such as hedgehogs and owls!

Children loved the pool & facilities in the games room. Garden beautiful and scenery magnificent.

Thank you Annette and Jason for another fantastic holiday ( our 7th time here!) Lots of relaxation and time to enjoy the beautiful pool and gardens. As usual we enjoyed some lovely evenings with food and drinks and lots of laughs. We had brilliant trips out in La Rochelle, Vouvant and Fontenay Le Comte and a great afternoon on the beach near La Grière. Emily and Eva enjoyed the market in La Tranche and most importantly the Churros!! This is such a relaxing place and a home from home with everything you could ever need. I have no doubt that we will be back before long

This was our first visit to the Vendée and certainly won’t be our last! Jason & Annette, what can we say, as thank you doesn’t seem to be enough!
Fantastic hosts, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for you (even Macintosh!). Great recommendations especially Vallée de Yon, Parc Floral, O’Gliss Water Park, J Mourat Wines and the friendly staff & excellent food at L’Aubraie in Lavaud.
Maison Lairoux is a brilliant family and dog friendly holiday and you both made our stay extra special. A bientôt.
Having loved our one week holidays here over the last two years, two weeks this year was amazing !
We had those blissful lazy days, where we didn’t need to leave as we had everything we needed here. The pool & games room as ever entertained the children (& adults).
Locally we had some great days out; The Vendée Aquarium, Zoo & Château des Aventuriers. We loved the beaches at La Tranche sur Mer, La Faute sur Mer & La Grière. As always, bike rides with Jason were a fab experience, such a perfect way to see the beautiful countryside!

We had a fantastic week at L’Ecurie – thank you Jason and Annette for being amazing hosts! Our highlights included the Marais Poitevin, Mervent Zoo, Mourat Vineyard, and we enjoyed walks around the Marais Communal and the Jardin Dumaine in Luçon.
The weather was great, and we sat outside every night admiring the view!

The bird watching has been fascinating, the walks on the Marais delightful, and the garden of William Christie absolutely fabulous – a real treat.
The pool has been great to enjoy at the end of the day.

We have had the most relaxing break, in a home from home, prepared by our wonderful hosts Annette & Jason. They've both made some amazing recommendations for things to do and places to eat. We even discovered some of our own …. the Panier de Crabes in La Rochelle had fantastic fruits de mer.
