Our 5th visit to L'Ecurie! The weather has been mostly glorious, and the pool used every day.
We have found new walks and seen over 50 different bird species. My sister and brother-in-law who joined us for a few days were made as welcome as we always are!
Thank you once again Annette & Jason for your 'goodies' provided on our arrival, and for the tomatoes, figs and grapes from the garden.
Thank you for being superb hosts, even providing a tiny screwdriver to mend my glasses!
Yet again, a very relaxing stay at Le Vieux Café - over a decade of visits, and it never lets us down. Weather has been so hot (32°C+) so, the pool has been our best friend.
As always, Annette & Jason are wonderful hosts… always helpful with local with local advice and tips. The house is s well equipped, which is why we return.

We spent half of our time in the pool because it is so sunny and warm half of the time 😻 Me and my family enjoyed playing pool and ping pong in the games room.

Thanks for a fantastic 4th visit to Le Vieux Café. As always, we’ve had such a lovely relaxing stay. We’ve enjoyed walking and swimming at La Tranche, visiting La Faute sur Mer – the boys especially enjoyed the skate park.
The almond croissants from the bakery in Grue have also been a big hit with the family.
Loved the warm pool and the games room, which have kept the boys happy and enabled us to relax!

Sitting on our beautiful terrace in the evening was bliss. We enjoyed hearing the owls and seeing hedgehogs.

We have had a wonderful week here at L’Ecurie. Our highlights have been Plage de la Terrière (great for bodyboarding) and the kids really enjoyed Chateau des Aventuriers.
Most of all, we enjoyed being in the amazing pool and later on, watching the beautiful sunsets.
We have been made to feel very welcome and at ease by Annette and Jason – thank you.
Not forgetting the games room which the kids were able to disappear into!

Such a lovely and relaxing stay. Despite the changeable weather, the pool was still a hit! Especially when the swallows and storks flew overhead.
Boys spent their time alternating between the pool and games room so we could relax knowing they were happy. It is incredibly well situated for exploring the local area and a wonderfully calm and peaceful place to return to after a day out.
Everything you could possibly need in a home.

The kids wanted to say how amazing the pool was and are very sad to leave. We’ve all had a lovely, relaxing week – just what was needed – and we hope to return one day. We’ll miss sitting outside admiring the view every evening

I like the swimming pool and the decorations like the rings (inflatables), and the plant donut, and the fish donut, and the unicorn, and the water pistol that I like and the plants in here are nice.
I like that there are children's parks and that we have two lovely dogs on the other side, one is light brown and black and flat hair and the other dog has curly hair and it is white and at first they barked loudly at us but when they calmed down and we put our hand on them, they were no longer afraid of us which I like

2 weeks for us, enjoying the pool, company etc.. Harley & Elle enjoyed their hire car – beep beep Elle!! They went to the Aquarium at La Rochelle, Futuroscope – they really enjoyed fab views of the sunset of an evening too.
Had a trip to Nantes to take Elle & Harley to airport – so went to the centre ville. Luckily for Jason the shops were shut as it was a Sunday. Would recommend eating brekkie at La Cigale and visiting the mechanical elephant and merry go round.
We had a quiet week just milling about by the pool. Port Bourgenay is worth a visit – we went twice and ate at the same creperie for lunch – very tasty galette there – La Chaumière du Blé Noir. Also, a good work from the port too.
Had a good meal at La Tranche – the Hotel d’Atlantique – good crab there and good burgers at the L’Oasis in La Faute sur Mer with Jason & Annette.
Also, a good pizzeria at Mareuil sur Lay after a busy day visiting La Rochelle.

We have spent a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable week here in Lairoux. The establishment is perfect for our three generations of family shared between the two houses. The pool and games room were a great hit with all ages, ranging from 18 months to 73.
We have enjoyed exploring the local area and sampling the local wines.
Annette and Jason are the perfect hosts – thank you. Special thanks to Jason for the guided cycling – brilliant!
We hope to return next year for a repeat performance. Hopefully the kids will be quieter then!
A last minute decision and well worth the visit. beautiful sunsets, terrific thunder and superb hosts. What more could we ask for!

We have had a lovely week celebrating my 60th birthday with family. The facilities at the cottage are very good, home from home! We have enjoyed the cottage gardens, peace and quiet, sweet birdsong and especially the spacious and refreshing swimming pool.
The children have loved the playroom (filled to the brim with interesting & active things to do) and young adults appreciated using the gym!
All and all a wonderful stay. We hope to return next year to visit more of the beaches & castles in the region.

We’ve had a lovely stay in both holiday cottages and have really enjoyed our week. What a fantastic set up for families especially (we are travelling with three children 5 and under). The swimming pool and the games room were a big hit.
Annette and Jason have been very helpful throughout and we hope to return again soon!
